Qáa in Egyptian
Bienekhes? in Greek

Qáa was probably the last king of the first dynasty and he had a large tomb in Abydos re-excavated in 1993 by people from the German Archaeological Institute in Cairo, in short - MDAIK.
The work revealed lots of enlargements and alte- rations from an original simple square construction.
A large impressive mastaba in Sakkara from his reign revealing a big limestone stele bearing the name of a high official and priestly nobleman of the court. The tradition of sacrificial burials seems to have stopped in Sakkara during Qaa's reign.
Manetho records his reign to 26 years, but the Greek name he gives (see above) hardly equates.
